Leading and building digital platforms, digital products and digital transformation Financial Services

Direction where things need to come together

I lead digital services, platforms and end-to-end customer and advisor journeys in financial services, with responsibility for direction, prioritization and delivery across web, mobile, CRM and digital platforms.

I do it by bringing business, design and technology together: one shared strategy, priorities that are actually aligned, and customer insight that becomes roadmap decisions instead of slides. I experiment and test new technology, and keep a firm focus on AI adoption, time to market and MVPs — because change only creates value once it is adopted, scalable and embedded in how the organization operates.

My leadership style is transparent, pragmatic and collaborative. I set clear direction, give strong specialists ownership, and stay close to teams, stakeholders and decisions.

  • 01 LeadershipBuilding and leading product and digital organizations — cross-functional teams across design, product, data and engineering that deliver faster and at higher quality. Transparent and pragmatic, close to the teams and the decisions.
  • 02 Digital platformsWeb, mobile and advisory platforms end to end, including architecture, design systems and the technical direction underneath.
  • 03 TransformationMulti-year programmes from legacy to modern platforms — Next Gen at Danica, the carve-out at Nordea — and the operating models that make them stick.
  • 04 Customer experienceTurning journeys into seamless, intuitive and data-driven omnichannel experiences across customer and advisor.
  • 05 AI and automationAI, RPA and self-service applied to core processes, with documented effect on operating cost and customer experience.

Roles

Where I am now

Open to both

I am moving on after Nordea and looking in two directions at once. A permanent leadership role within digital platforms, product or transformation — and advisory work where I come in to get a platform, a product organization or a programme back on track.

I personally recruited Peter to Nordea as Head of Digital with responsibility for the customer-facing part of the digital business. Peter came from Danica, where he had held a similar area of responsibility.

Peter quickly settled into the management team and was well received in the customer-facing functions. He understands the customers, the onboarding process and the expectations you have as a customer in a financial company, and he translates that understanding into concrete priorities.

On the technical side, Peter is not a specialist, but he is technically strong enough to have a qualified dialogue about APIs, frontend technology and similar. He can lead a development team and provide professional sparring at a level where the developers take him seriously.

For the sake of completeness: I was only Peter's manager for a shorter period, as I chose to leave Nordea shortly after I had hired him. With a six-month notice period, however, we did get to work together for some time, and I followed him closely through both recruitment and onboarding.

The fact that Peter did not stay long at Nordea was not because of him. The Group changed its focus from customer acquisition to operational optimization, and as a result, the budgets and resources on which a large part of Peter's mandate was based disappeared.

Peter is visionary, thinks in a structured way and approaches his tasks with passion. He is a pleasant man with good energy, and he is the type who lifts a team without compromising focus.

Would I hire Peter again? Yes, without hesitation.

I live in Solrød Strand with my wife, our two teenage daughters and three dogs. I play padel a couple of times a week, run along the beach when the weather allows, and take the girls skiing and snowboarding in Sweden every year. Most summers end up including a few of the bigger festivals.
